Rory Feek has several plans to continue telling stories even though he won’t have his sweetheart Joey Feek by his side to help him do it. In order to help keep Joey’s memory alive, Rory plans on doing more work with film and even possibly writing a book.
Speaking with People, he explained how he had co-written and directed his first film “this past spring” and he plans on doing more projects like that in the future. “[Joey] talked to me about how she wants me to continue to tell our story, and other stories,” he told the magazine.
Rory explained in a blog post following his wife’s death on Friday, March 4th that “one of the few movies Joey knew and loved” was Hope Floats. The family had recently gathered to watch it together one last time with Rory capturing video of that moment, and sharing it on his blog This Life I Live. Whether he makes movies that capture their relationship, or movies to honor the types of stories she loved watching, Rory’s storytelling will always be a tribute to his true love.
He added, “And she’s also encouraged me to write a book. Joey and I have both experienced the power of living, and telling a great story, so I hope to be able to continue writing and being part of a great story.”
