Dolly Parton announced recently that she will be heading out on her largest North American tour in 25 years, but touring wasn’t always in the cards for 2016.
“I wasn’t really planning to do a tour this year, because I’ve got so many things going on … I thought, ‘Well, I don’t really have the time; I don’t want to take the time to work up some big show with all kinds of stuff behind [it],’” Parton told The Boot at a recent media event.

Parton decided to go ahead and do a tour this year because she “might possibly do a [TV] series. I’m certainly getting really involved in the production of the TV show, so I might do more business things and just do some shows here and there.”

Parton has not revealed all of her Pure & Simple Tour dates, but she will play a benefit concert for her Imagination Library at the LeConte Center in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., on Nov. 15. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on July 1. More information on the show and the entire tour will be available on Parton’s official website.
