Like fellow country musicians Blake Shelton and Carrie Underwood, Garth Brooks will be contributing music for a sport this fall. His song, “Pure Adrenaline” will be played every week on CBS’ SEC Game of the Week.
Don’t think that “Pure Adrenaline” is a one size fits all song. Each week, Brooks will update the lyrics to reflect the teams playing and make it special for viewers. “We wrote ‘Pure Adrenaline’ for every SEC game that’s going to happen this year. It’s pretty cool,” he said during a Facebook Live event yesterday (August 15). He added, “There’s like 20 something of ’em.”
Brooks took fans behind the scenes where he was shooting the song’s video. “They’re going to make it look bigger, of course, than it is,” he said. He mentioned how the video will be fast-paced and intercut with football footage. “Where we’re going to take this to the next level, though, is…I’ve acquired the writing of Gordon Kennedy. For you people who are Garth fans, Gordon wrote ‘You Move Me.'” The two worked together on “Pure Adrenaline.”
The song will debut September 3 when UCLA plays Texas A&M. Watch the Facebook Live event below.
