Brad Pitt Debuts New Tattoo Alongside His Angelina Jolie Ink

August 30, 2019

Brad Pitt arrived at the Venice Film Festival sporting some new mysterious ink.

The 55-year-old flaunted a new tattoo on his right bicep of a tall man standing over his shadow, according to the Daily Mail.

It’s placement appears to be right next to one he previously got in honor of his wedding to Angelina Jolie in 2014. That marking was inspired by a 13th century poem by Rumi which reads, “There exists a field, beyond all notions of right and wrong. I will meet you there.”

The “Once Upon a Time …in Hollywood” star is no stranger to getting tattoos for Jolie or his family.  He previously got the “Girl, Interrupted” actress’ birthday, June 4, 1975, on his torso, and a few lines that she allegedly wrote etched onto his back.

Pitt’s forearm also features a long cross with the first initial of each of his six children and an A for Angelina.

He and Jolie share six children together - daughters Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 13, and Vivienne, 11, and sons Maddox, 18, Pax, 15, and Knox, 11.
The actress filed for divorce in 2016.

Pitt arrived at the film festival for the premiere of his new film “Ad Astra,” in which he plays an astronaut who has to go into space in search of his lost father and to save the world.

The sci-fi adventure co-stars Tommy Lee Jones, Liv Tyler, Ruth Negga  and Donald Sutherland.

With award season gearing up, Pitt kept it politically correct when asked if he hoped he and the film gets Oscar recognition.

“Every year, I see amazing talent getting acknowledged, and amazing talent not getting acknowledged,” he told Variety. “When your name comes up it’s great, and when it doesn’t, it’s a usually a friend, so I’m happy, too.”

“Ad Astra” hits theaters on September 20th.
