Talladega Super Speedway has always put on a great race and Sunday's race was fast. The Stewart-Haas Fords of Kurt Busch, Kevin Harvick, Aric Almirola and Clint Bowyer were by far the best cars on the track.

Kurt Busch started on the pole position, by far had the fastest car, but a late race caution didn't help him because he ran out of gas on coming into turn 4 and finished 14th. He is still 30 points above and is sitting currently 6th in points. So the battle went on as Aric Almirola and Clint Bowyer who both needed to either win or have great finishes battled to the finish line.

Almirola was able to get his first win of the season and breaking a winless streak dating back to Daytona in 2014 and locked himself into the Round of 8, along with Chase Elliott from his win last weekend at Dover. Martin Truex Jr. had a "evil" car and struggled to stay with the draft and compete. He finished 23rd and is now 18 points above the cut-off line.

Drivers below the line - Brad Keselowski (-18), Ryan Blaney (-22), Kyle Larson (-26) and Alex Bowman (-68).

NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series heads to Clint Bowyer's home track of Kansas Motor Speedway. Bowyer who is 21 points about the cut-off line is looking to win and lock himself into the next round on his home track but the favorite going in is Martin Truex Jr. who has 2 wins and is still the dominate Toyota when it comes to mile and a half tracks. The other favorite is Kevin Harvick who also has 2 wins and is "The Closer," especially when it comes to mile and a half tracks.
