It never ceases to amaze me when I hear of kids doing AMAZING things!

When I was a kid, I was more focused on playing with my dog and begging my parents to go get me the latest NSYNC album, but not Kaley Bastine.

Kaley is always working on her next mission to not only help the local police departments, but to help her favorite K9 Officer, Joe Martino, and his K9, Deuce, from the New Kensington Police Department.

Over the weekend, Kaley, as well as the rest of her fan club, held the "Cookies For A K9" Event at Mogie's Magill Grill in Lower Burrell. They sold cookies (for humans and pups), had a 50/50 raffle and sold t-shirts featuring the K9 Deuce!

Not only did they bring the community together for a good cause, they raised $4,356.50 for the New Kensington Police Department!

Officer Martino and K9 Deuce are in need of a new patrol vehicle, so Kaley wants to continue her efforts in fundraising to help to provide a safe vehicle for them.

K9 Deuce is from the Shaw Foundation; The foundation started in honor of the late New Kensington Police Officer Brian Shaw, who was shot and killed while on duty in 2017.
