Allegheny Has 87 New Cases Of COVID-19

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The Allegheny County Health Department has confirmed 87 new cases in its Saturday, August 8 update.

The 87 new cases bring Allegheny County’s total to 8,796; these numbers have been collected since March 14.

Of the 87 cases, 86 were confirmed, one was probable, and the ages ranged from six to 96; the median age was 50.

While the number of tests is still pending, they date between July 16 and August 7.

Nine new hospitalizations and one new death were also reported.

With the newest update, 730 hospitalizations and 258 deaths related to COVID-19 have been reported by the ACHD.

Reports from the ACHD also indicate that Saturday’s lone death was a patient in their 70s.

As far as gender breakdowns, 49 of the new cases were found in women, while 38 were in men.

The Allegheny County Health Department has a digital map that can be used to follow the positive cases and their locations and densities across the county.
