Brentwood Cancels 4th Of July Celebration Amid Coronavirus

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - One of the bigger Fourth of July celebrations in Pittsburgh will not happen this year.

Brentwood Borough has canceled its Independence Day events including the annual parade.

In a post, the police chief says the decision was made in the best interest of everyone’s safety during the coronavirus pandemic.

“Brentwood Borough has placed a moratorium on ALL public events taking place on the 4th of July. There are many factors to consider with this decision, but the main one is everyone’s safety,” the Borough said in post.

The borough says they plan on continuing the celebration in 2021.
