Editorial: Pittsburgh Schools Making Progress to Reopen

Pittsburgh area school districts are making progress in restarting education in the fall. And they're doing a great job, district by district.

The preparations are a perfect example of local leaders making decisions and setting policy that works for the people they are accountable to.

Many districts are giving parents the flexibility of sending their children back to classes, some classes at school and some at home, or all classes at home.

At the same time we should heed the advice of the Surgeon General who says we can limit viral transmission by wearing masks and watching our distance.

He also wants schools to have plans to protect vulnerable teachers & family.
